Per our Travel & Expense Policy, receipts are required for any expense equal to or greater than $25. This includes meals, lodging, transportation, and other reimbursable items. The policy emphasizes that:

Did you know? When a meal is charged to a hotel room, both the itemized restaurant receipt and the hotel receipt/folio must be submitted. This ensures proper documentation and supports compliance with internal controls and audit standards. The itemized receipt provides necessary detail on the nature of the expense, while the hotel folio confirms the charge was processed through the lodging provider.

IT in App Installation: Safeguarding Digital Workspace

Downloading software from the internet can put Current at risk.
It is tempting to download the latest tool or app directly from the internet. Unfortunately, downloading and installing software outside of approved IT channels can put the entire organization at risk. Here’s why:

• Malware and Viruses: Cybercriminals often disguise malicious software as helpful apps. A seemingly legitimate download can infect your device with malware, ransomware, spyware, or viruses, endangering both personal and organizational data.
• Phishing and Data Breaches: Unverified apps can act as a gateway for hackers, allowing them to infiltrate networks, steal sensitive information, or monitor your activity without detection.
• Unpatched Vulnerabilities: Apps found on unofficial sites may not receive updates, leaving vulnerabilities unaddressed and systems exposed to newly discovered threats.
• Legal and Licensing Issues: Some software downloaded from the internet may be pirated or violate licensing agreements, exposing Current to costly legal action and fines.
• Loss of Support and Reliability: IT teams cannot guarantee support for unsanctioned apps, leading to compatibility issues, buggy performance, and unreliable user experiences

• Security Assurance: Even legitimate websites can be compromised, and malicious actors often disguise harmful software as common programs. When IT installs applications, we ensure each one has been vetted, verified, and meets company security standards.
• Consistent Updates and Patch Management: When IT manages installations, we can also manage updates, patches, and version control. This means fewer disruptions for you, and it helps maintain system stability and security across the whole organization. Plus, when something goes wrong, IT can provide support because we know exactly what’s installed and how it was set up.
• Compliance and Licensing: Many applications are not truly “free,” and using them without the correct license can create serious legal and financial consequences for Current. IT ensures all software is properly licensed and compliant with regulations, keeping Current and its employees out of trouble.
• Compatibility and Integration: Downloading software without testing can cause conflicts, slow down devices, or disrupt other business-critical applications. IT tests software to make sure it works smoothly within our environment before rolling it out for use.
• Centralized Support: Unauthorized apps put sensitive company and customer data at risk. Centralizing software installation through IT safeguards information, helping us maintain the trust our clients and partners place in us. Should issues arise, IT can provide reliable troubleshooting and support.

From protecting your account with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), to managing password resets and avoiding account lockouts, each edition will cover practical tips to help you stay secure and informed.

• In case of device change or loss of device, set up MFA again on new device as soon as possible to avoid MFA issues. For detailed steps please refer to KB111.
• If you’re having trouble with MFA setup or access, please refer to KB86.
• Regularly update your authentication apps and phone to ensure security patches are applied.

• The very first Canadian Labor Day parade in 1872 had such a big turnout that it helped push the government to make union activity legal.

• In Detroit, the world’s oldest continuously running Labor Day parade has been happening every year since 1890.
• In the U.S., more hot dogs are reportedly eaten over Labor Day weekend than on the Fourth of July. (Summer’s last stand at the grill!)

With a menu full of chili dogs, cookies, and brownies, the event was a perfect blend of team spirit, summer vibes, and giving back. Beyond the fun, participants made a meaningful impact by writing heartfelt cards for Children’s Hospital patients across the country.

Lachine Team Fires Up the Grill

The team knows how to make the most of summer—by throwing another awesome BBQ! With burgers, hotdogs, and plenty of laughs, the day was filled with good vibes and great company.

While flipping patties, the team shared a fun fact: in parts of Germany, it’s rumored to be illegal to say no to hamburgers and hotdogs… Is it true? Who knows—Google it! Either way, we’re not saying no to another round of BBQ fun.

Celebrating Academic Excellence in Tijuana

Tijuana recently honored the academic achievements of employees’ children with a special celebration at El Trompo Museum. The event recognized students for their hard work during the 2024–2025 school year and featured interactive exhibits, a science show, and a planetarium experience that brought learning to life.

Families came together to celebrate bright minds and strong efforts, reinforcing the values of education and support within our workplace community.

Acuna Education - Dinosaur Sized

Acuna hosted a fun and meaningful back-to-school celebration, recognizing employees’ children in elementary and middle school.
