Global Holiday Awareness

At Current, our global team spans multiple time zones and continents, and we wholeheartedly embrace the diverse holidays that enrich our workplace culture.

Mid-Autumn Festival: China - September 15-17. The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a significant Chinese holiday celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. This festival is steeped in history, dating back over 3,000 years, and is a time for families to come together under the glow of the full moon. They share mooncakes, delicious pastries that symbolize unity and completeness. Did you know that the round shape of a mooncake represents the full moon, a powerful symbol of harmony and reunion?

Mexican Independence Day: Mexico - September 16th. Mexican Independence Day commemorates the start of the War of Independence against Spain in 1810. Celebrated with parades, fireworks, and traditional festivities, this holiday is a vibrant expression of Mexican culture and patriotism. The colors of the Mexican flag – green for hope, white for purity, and red for the blood spilled for freedom – are as symbolic as the day itself.

Tips for a Respectful Global Workplace:

  1. Check Out-of-Office Notices: Be mindful of colleagues who might be unavailable due to the holiday.
  2. Use "Delay Send": Schedule emails to arrive at a convenient time for recipients in different time zones.

Let’s continue to support one another, celebrate our unique traditions, and strive for a harmonious work-life balance. Happy Holidays to all!
