Luis Merigo

recently transitioned to the role of Product Manager for the Life Safety team.

In his new role, Luis oversees Emergency Lighting Units & Battery Packs across our Dual-Lite, Compass, and Lumination Life Safety Products.

Luis joined the Tijuana facility as a drafting intern ~7 years ago before moving into Product Engineering. He relocated to Greenville in 2021.

Controls

Rashad Harper

has transitioned to a new position in Product Management, focusing on Controls.

In his new role, Rashad oversees standalone controls and all CX and NX Lighting Control Panels.

Rashad joined the team ~ 9 years and has supported various brands including Columbia, Prescolite, LiteControl, and Kurt Versen.

Bill Bruggemeier recently joined the Current Controls Team as the Product Manager for hardware based NX Controls.

Bill Bruggemeier

With extensive experience in technology product management, Bill brings valuable expertise from his previous roles at Schneider Electric and Legrand North America. In his most recent position at Schneider Electric, Bill served as the Product Manager for Connected Living, where he successfully launched the Square D branded wiring device business and introduced innovative energy monitoring and control solutions. Prior to that, Bill spent nearly 14 years at Legrand North America, managing connectivity, intercom, and camera products, as well as overseeing retail channel management.

Light! Design Expo

Design expo

The team was present at the Light! Design Expo in San Francisco, where we had the opportunity to showcase our lighting solutions products, interact with the design community and our peers in the industry.

Light! Design Expo is Northern California’s Premier Architectural Lighting and Design Show, showcasing the latest in architectural lighting products and attracting a wide range of design professionals. The event was free to attendees and presented a unique opportunity to experience the latest in innovative architectural and decorative lighting products.

This June, the Acuna site celebrated Environmental Month with a series of activities. They planted trees, held raffles with ecological prizes, gave talks on the benefits of composting, and carried out garbage cleaning in community parks.

June 10 was the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, and our team in China came together to celebrate this special date by making crafts.The main customs of this festival are hanging the image of Zhong Kui, hiding from the midday sun, hanging Chu leaf amulets, hanging calamus and mugwort, holding martial arts competitions and ball games, among other activities.

The Acuna team recently celebrated English as a Second Language graduation ceremony, where several of our employees had the opportunity to take classes for a year to enhance their skills and knowledge of the language. The program was a great success, and the next offering begins this month. We look forward to seeing our employees continue to grow and develop their skills. This initiative reflects our continued commitment to investing in the personal and professional growth of our team. Congratulations grads!

Acuna’s first Lean Event, a 6-week program linking our business to local universities to improve on savings, output, and ergonomics in different production areas recently began. 12 students alongside our engineers, as mentors, presented their projects to members of the Current team and university directors.

We are confident that by helping students develop their potential, that they will help contribute to our continuous improvement in plant operations. Special thanks to Sr. Engineer Victor Espinosa, Lean Event Leader, for his valuable contribution. Here's to a great beginning!

Volunteer with the Current Team at United Way of Greenville County's School Tools to help supply resources to Greenville County students so they can have the best start to the school year. We will be distributing backpacks and other necessary tools as well as having fun activities like a backpack personalization station and making balloon animals.
