Welcome to the team - Patrick Ronan
Patrick Ronan has joined our team as the National Sales Manager for Current’s life safety brands and product portfolio. In this role, Patrick is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing a comprehensive sales growth strategy for the portfolio which includes the brands Dual-Lite and Compass.
Reporting to Paul Lewis, Patrick will work closely with end-user clients, electrical contractors, specifiers, electrical distributors, key accounts, regional teams, and agency partners across Current’s HLI and GLI segments as a technical product and market resource to drive share and sales for Life Safety.
Patrick has 25+ years of experience in the electrical, lighting and life safety business and is a U.S. Army Veteran. With his range of experience, Patrick is well positioned to drive incremental sales for Current’s life safety products. Patrick resides in Fountain Hills, AZ and has two children. Welcome to the team - Gary Danter
Please welcome Gary Danter, Territory Sales Manager, Lamp, to Current’s commercial sales organization, reporting to Clayton Smith, Director, National Distribution. This is a new role in Current and Gary will be supporting the Lamp Area Managers and the overall Lamp business, with a primary focus on the Southeast, (NC, SC, GA & FL).
Gary will develop strong relationships with customers by creating customized account plans and commercial strategies, soliciting, and signing new distribution in the territory.
He will identify, develop, and manage channel partners to achieve channel goals, and drive market growth and share gain of Current lamps in the assigned territory. Gary joins us with an extensive background in lighting and electrical distribution sales, with over 20 years’ experience. Living in the Jacksonville, FL area he enjoys a bit of the ocean lifestyle -boating, jet skis, paddle boarding, and bicycle rides on the beach, not to mention eating fresh seafood. April Sales Wins
Gambling and Beacon – Lighting up the Slots
Kudos to Mike Adams, Laura Bicknell and Doug Hodges for bringing in a great sales win for Wind Creek Casino in the Atlantic Region. The team had a very long sales cycle as the casino switched owners 4 years ago. Their renovation plan began a few years ago and experienced several iterations of linear solutions vs. point source
After several rounds of budgeting and negotiations, Current’s Beacon Drive was proposed and we were able to demonstrate its great balance of performance and price. What was the deciding factors that secured the win? Performance and aesthetics won the bid in April, it was awarded and released in May for immediate shipment. Furthermore, Current has shipped a portion of the project earlier than expected, helping both the customer and contractor stay on their renovation schedule. This is a successful win for the owner, contractor, agent and Current! Please drop to the team some Applause for this victory!
Christiansburg Welcomes Visitors
Members of the executive team visited Christiansburg recently. During the visit, leaders of the different areas of the plant joined forces to show off the facilities, advances and improvements
Phish Alert Button Test and Security Training
As phishing and other hacking attempts become more advanced, it is important that we stay vigilant in protecting Current and its data and networks. Periodic Phishing Security Tests (PSTs) and other Security Awareness Trainings (SATs) help us to become better in detecting malicious emails and recognize potentially unsafe internet activity.
The InfoSec team is conducting a test of our Phish Alert Report button that should be in your Outlook. The test is simple – You will receive an email asking you to click the Phish Alert Report button. This simple PST lets the InfoSec team know that the button is working, and it lets us know who may not have the button. If you do not have a Phish Alert Report button in your Outlook, please let the InfoSec team know.
In addition to the button test, you will also receive an email for a quick security training refresher video. Please follow the link and watch the video. It should only take about 15 minutes. The SAT reinforces the PST test by reminding you how to identify phishing emails and report them. We encouraged you to watch the video as it illustrates many of the advancing phishing techniques that are used to trick you into compromising your device or account.

Shanghai AED Training
The Shanghai team had an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training session in May, where the teacher came in to specifically explain how to perform CPR and use AED in the event of a cardiac arrest. Our colleagues practiced one by one and learned how to perform CPR and defibrillate.
United Way of Henderson County thanks Current
Acuna Lean DNA certification
During the first week of May, the Acuna plant certified SMEs in Lean DNA to lead the soft go-live of our plant, with the participation of the Purchasing, Planning, Engineering and Warehouse teams. Now they are implementing the tool in materials departments to improve inventory control and the supply chain. This effort optimizes our operations and strengthens our response to market demands. Aquathon 2024
Our colleague Agota Nagy, who is our Fulfilment Leader for the Europe division, will participate in the Sprint Aquathlon race of Darwen Triathlon 2024 , which consists of swimming 750 meters and running 5K. The race will take place on June 23 in Darwen, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Agota's motivation for pursuing this race, in addition to taking care of her physical and mental health, is to help civil organizations so that they can continue their work of helping the people in her community.
Agota will be running to raise funds for St John Ambulance ,a volunteer-run non-governmental charity dedicated to teaching and practicing first aid and supporting the national emergency response system in England. Participate in our Mental Wellness Trivia Contest as part of the launch. This contest is an opportunity to learn more about mental health, raise awareness, and support each other in creating a healthier workplace.
Chair Yoga Session
As part of Culture Committee Mental Health Awareness activities, a Chair Yoga Session was held, where we enjoyed a moment of relaxation using breathing techniques. Congratulations to Jyothi Bommireddy for winning an aromatherapy diffuser for participating in the last Chair Yoga Session.
Hendersonville 2024 Spring Health Fair and Cook Out
More than 25 vendors came to the Hendersonville site to offer and demonstrate their health services, where employees had the opportunity to learn more about nutrition and supplements, education, fire safety, digestive health, wellness and more.
Mental Health Talk in Acuna
The Acuna site hosted Gabriel Carreón, a Mental Health specialist as part of the Mental Health Month activities. This visit, made possible by the culture committee, was a valuable opportunity to learn and discuss the importance of mental well-being in the workplace. During the talk, he taught several techniques and tools, such as the 5-second breathing technique and the 5,4,3,2,1 method, to release tension during stressful moments.
Organization Workshop in Tijuana
Tijuana held a workshop on how to manage stressful situations at work through organizational techniques that are useful when carrying out a project or delegating activities to a work team.
