LATAM Celebrates Win

GESSCO is our main distributor in Trinidad & Tobago. They have been installing roadway fixtures (ERL1 and ERL2) for many years. This $2.2 M win was the result of great teamwork by Andrea Garcia and Barbara Sosa. Felipe Rojas and the Engineering team from Roadway and HVL (Dany, Gary, Andy and FT) were very helpful in achieving our success. The support from Amy Olszewski and Patricio Cortes who worked the supply chain was critical to meet the delivery schedule.

For our company, achieving this goal was of utmost importance since we are the spec'd brand in T&T and we have already supplied more than 40K high quality pieces with more to come. This win challenges our manufacturing flexibility with engraving and specific labeling.

Congratulations to the team for this great achievement. Applause!

Global Holidays Awareness

At Current, we operate in multiple time zones and on multiple continents. It’s important to us that we recognize the celebrations and events employees participate in around the world so that we can celebrate diversity and prioritize work-life balance. In May, many of our countries honor Labor Day.

  • China: Labor Holiday, May 1st to May 5th
  • Mexico: Labor Day, May 1st
  • UK: Early May Bank Holiday, May 6th

Labor Day holds significant meaning for these countries. In China, it celebrates the achievements of the working class and the contributions they have made to the country's development. In Mexico, it stands as a remembrance of the historic struggle for improved labor conditions and rights.

In the UK, the Early May Bank Holiday combines two traditions: The ancient celebration of spring's arrival, symbolizing renewal and fertility, and International Workers’ Day, highlighting workers’ rights. This holiday reflects both cultural traditions and modern social values.

Please be mindful to accommodate varying time zones and holiday schedules, respect your colleagues' time off by checking out-of-office notifications, and consider using the "Delay Send" option in email as necessary.

Our warmest wishes to our team members around the world. We hope you take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Our culture committee in action

Celebrating Earth Day

Acuna

The Acuna Culture Committee visited the Enrique Campos Aragón Elementary School to participate in a special reforestation activity. With the Ecology Department they planted 7 trees and 2 bougainvilleas. It was heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm and joy of the children as they welcomed the team and enthusiastically joined in the planting. We are proud to contribute to the care of our planet and inspire future generations to do the same.

Acuna

Greenville

The team participated in Hands On Greenville, a day that has united the Greenville community for over 25 years as Upstate South Carolina’s largest annual day of service. Over 40 volunteers worked as a team at East North Street Academy, where they cleaned and pruned the campus, planted shrubs and flowers, and painted and cleaned windows. We are so thankful to have the opportunity to give back to our community.

HOG Day

Montreal

Our Montreal team recently banded together to lend a helping hand at a local food bank. They were able to save 490kg of clementines, rescued 210kg of fresh juice, set aside 238kg of food for immediate distribution, and composted 42kg. They also chopped up 60kg of veggies, making a whopping 93 liters of soup for families facing tough times. This wasn't just about numbers; it was about making a real, human impact in our community.
