AI Training: What’s New & What’s Next
If you missed the last session, click here to view the recording. In Session #4 of our AI for You: 30min Series to Work Smarter, we explored how to use Copilot Pro in Outlook. Some real-world examples included:
- Summaries of emails and attachments
- Drafting email replies based on the context
- Smarter scheduling of meetings

- AI Access for All: Every employee now has access to Microsoft Copilot, which starts automatically with your device.
- Copilot App now includes a dictation feature that allows users to communicate with it directly.
- Copilot App is now available on your cellphone and can be downloaded via the Comp Portal app.
- Perplexity: Testing licenses have been assigned to all users.

Summer Fun and Safety in Plympton
The Plympton site came alive with sunshine, laughter, and team spirit during its annual Summer Picnic. The event featured a delicious spread of grilled favorites, classic games like sack races, and a lively DJ spinning dance tunes that kept the energy high.
Beyond the fun, the picnic also served as an opportunity to highlight important workplace initiatives. The team welcomed the new members of the Safety Committee, reinforcing the company’s ongoing commitment to a safe and supportive work environment. In recognition of June’s National Safety Month, employees also received training on heat illness prevention—an essential topic as summer temperatures rise. It was a perfect blend of celebration and education, bringing the team together to enjoy great food, friendly competition, and a shared focus on well-being.

The Acuna site proudly hosted its Perfect Attendance Recognition Event, celebrating the dedication and consistency of approximately 140 employees who achieved perfect attendance during the first half of 2025.
During the ceremony, team members were recognized for maintaining perfect attendance over various timeframes — including 6, 12, 18, and 24 months — highlighting their exceptional commitment to reliability and excellence. This milestone reflects the strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and teamwork that defines the Acuña workforce and reinforces the values that shape the company’s organizational culture. Outsmarting Social Engineering Tactics
Understanding Common Tricks and How to Avoid
Social engineering has become one of the most prevalent methods used by cybercriminals to gain unauthorized access to sensitive information. Social engineering relies on manipulating you into disclosing confidential information rather than directly attacking systems.
Common Social Engineering Tactics
Phishing: Attackers send fraudulent emails or messages, that often appear to come from trusted sources, to trick you into revealing sensitive information or clicking malicious links.
Pretexting: Attackers devise a fake but believable scenario—such as posing as IT support, co-worker, bank representative, or a police officer — to manipulate you into divulging confidential data.
Baiting: Victims are lured with promises of free goods, downloads, or exclusive offers, only to be tricked into providing information or installing malware. Attackers might leave an infected USB drive in a public place that installs malware and grants access to your PC.
Tailgating / Piggybacking: An unauthorized person, pretending to be an employee or posing as a delivery person, follows you to gain access to secured areas. Not to discourage helpfulness, but be cautious about holding the door for the unauthorized person.
Honeytrap: The attacker creates fake online people, for romance scams or fake jobs, to build trust and extract money or information from you. Limit the personal information you share on social media, as attackers often use these details to craft convincing attacks.
Impersonation: The attacker assumes the identity of someone trusted, such as a company executive, an IT technician, or a family member to convince you to provide sensitive information or perform actions that compromise security, such as changing passwords or transferring funds.
How to Avoid Social Engineering Attacks:
Education and Awareness
The first line of defense against social engineering is education. Current pushes out quarterly “Inside Man” training sessions that help you identify common attacker scenarios. There are many other sources of education available in LinkedIn Learning and other websites.
Verify Requests
Always confirm the sender’s identity—whether it’s an email, phone call, or in-person request. Contact the person or organization directly using a trusted method to confirm the request. Hover over links to check their destinations, and don’t trust unfamiliar email addresses. Never disclose information based on a single point of communication.
Use Strong Authentication
Implementing strong authentication mechanisms can prevent unauthorized access. MFA adds an extra layer of security, making it harder for attackers to access your accounts even if they obtain your password. The Current Helpdesk will not ask for your password.
Secure Physical Access
Ensure that physical access to our areas is controlled. Current issues badges that should be worn while in offices and plants. You can ask for ID and verify before granting access and immediately report any suspicious activity.
Stay Updated. Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and so should your defenses. Stay informed about the latest security trends and updates.
Conclusion. By understanding the tactics used by attackers and implementing robust defenses, you can help Current protect us from falling victim to these deceptive schemes. When in doubt, pause and check before you act. By staying alert, verifying requests, and following best practices, you can dramatically reduce your risk of falling victim to social engineering attacks. IT Quick Fix Series: Tips to Keep You Connected
Welcome to a new three-part series from the TCS IT Support Team, designed to help you troubleshoot frequent technical issues with simple, step-by-step guidance. Each article will focus on a specific topic to help you stay connected and productive.
In this second edition, we’ll cover what to do if you’re unable to access shared folders remotely—the next steps can help you resolve the issue:
- Make sure your device is connected to the internet. Test by opening a few websites.
- If access requires a VPN (e.g., AppGate), ensure you're connected to it successfully & If not please reach out to itinfra.compute@currentlighting.com or ITInfra.Network@currentlighting.com and we will assist you further.
- Double-check the folder path (e.g., `\\server-name\sharedfolder` or mapped drive) for typos or outdated info.
- If you previously had access to the shared folders and if it’s not accessible, please re-map it.
- If you're using a mapped network drive, disconnect and re-map it with updated credentials. (This is only applicable if you have changed your password).
- Instead of the server's name, try using the IP address if you know the server IP address (e.g., `\\192.168.1.10\sharedfolder`) to rule out DNS issues.
- A simple reboot of your machine can often fix lingering network or authentication issues.
- You can refer existing KB in summit KB77 & KB78 for further troubleshoot.

Table Football Tournament Kicks Off in Acuna
The excitement is on at the Acuna site as the internal Table Football Tournament officially kicks off! A total of 17 teams, made up of colleagues from various departments, have joined the competition, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of camaraderie to the game.
The tournament aims to promote teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship, as participants compete for a coveted spot among the top three winning teams. Each match is an opportunity for players to showcase their skills and collaboration. Best of luck to all the teams — let the games begin!
Tijuana Site Hosted 7-a-Side Flash Soccer Tournament
The Tijuana site recently held a high-energy 7-a-side flash soccer tournament, bringing together 11 teams — both men's and women's — for a day filled with excitement, teamwork, and friendly competition. The tournament featured intense matchups and enthusiastic support from the sidelines, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for everyone involved.
In the men’s division, the final match was a close and thrilling battle between “Almacen FC” and “Compas FC.” After a hard-fought game, Almacen FC emerged victorious, claiming first place, while Compas FC secured a well-deserved second place.

In the women’s division, “Panteras” took home the championship title, with “MVP” finishing as runners-up. Both teams demonstrated remarkable dedication and teamwork, making the final an unforgettable showdown.
