Cleveland Team Celebrates New Office Space

Cleveland Office-Opening Ceremony Currently

We officially opened the doors to our new Cleveland office, officially located in Mayfield Heights. This modern space is much more than a new location – it serves as a dynamic showcase for customer and partner visits of our cutting-edge lighting and controls products.

The new office is designed to enhance collaboration and productivity and highlights the versatility of our own products, as it is illuminated entirely by Current Lighting and Controls solutions.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony coincided with the 2024 year-end party for employees, adding a festive touch to the opening celebration.

This new space reflects the company’s dedication to empowering employees, partners, and the local Cleveland community through innovation and cutting-edge solutions.

RDC Hendersonville Opening

RDC HVL

On January 8th, members from the Hendersonville team were honored to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of our new Regional Distribution Center, located just behind our factory. Current will be serving customers from the RDC with on-time deliveries of our Indoor product lines, Signage, RDL, and Traffic families. By relocating the RDC to Hendersonville, the company reduces lead times and increases operational efficiency. We are optimizing market penetration to drive revenue growth and exceed budget expectations all while benefitting from cost savings.

Special thanks to Dusty Walker, Andy Holland, David Donlin, Drew Wolfe, Teresa Reyes, and Larry Schroyer for making this achievement possible and those employees that will be taking on roles to work in the RDC.

Since its establishment in 1955, the Hendersonville site has fostered a strong sense of community through the creation of jobs that have led to a multi-generational workforce. Many generations of family members were invited to attend this ribbon cutting event.

Building Excellence: Our Journey to a World-Class Service Culture

At the heart of our organization lies a shared commitment to deliver exceptional service. In fact – it’s AOP #2: Service Excellence. In 2024 we took a significant step by launching the Creating a Culture of Service Initiative. This initiative is not over. It aims to foster a service mindset within our teams, ensuring that we conquer customers’ (internal + external) loyalty through outstanding and reliable service.

Key Milestones:

✔ 1 common definition of service

✔ 28 sessions conducted across 3 countries and 10 sites - Greenville, Hendersonville, Christiansburg, Plympton, Round Rock, Lachine, Toronto, Tijuana, Acuña and Mexico City.

✔ Over 700 team members trained, representing diverse roles and departments.

✔ 11 facilitators engaged.

✔ 1 Vision Board crafted from the insights and suggestions shared by employees through the training workshops.

A special thank you goes out to our facilitators and to every employee. Your active involvement, curiosity, and commitment are what bring our vision of a service-oriented culture to life.

What’s Next

A key outcome of the Creating a Culture of Service Initiative is the creation of our Vision Board, a group of competencies that reflects the essential skills, behaviors, and expectations necessary to foster a culture of service excellence.

We will continue to offer training workshops, discussion groups, challenge sessions, contests and more to ensure our change management effort to win succeeds!

For a more detailed view of the Vision Board and to explore how these competencies are being brought to life across our organization, please visit the Service Culture section on our Learning Channel. Global Holiday Awareness: Starting 2025 Off Right

A new year means a fresh start, a chance to pause and think about what really matters—how we treat each other and the values we bring to work every day.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day_2

On January 20, the U.S. observes Martin Luther King Jr. Day, honoring a leader who pushed for fairness, equality, and doing what’s right, even when it’s hard.

This day is a reminder of the importance of fairness, respect, and working together—values we bring into our global workplace every day.

Quick Facts
  • MLK Day became a federal holiday in 1983, but it wasn’t until 2000 that all 50 states officially recognized it.
  • It’s called a “day on, not a day off” because it’s meant to inspire people to give back and help their communities.
  • Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech is still one of the most powerful calls for justice and equality, delivered in 1963 to over 250,000 people.

A Few Tips for Working Smarter Together

  • Check Out-of-Office Notices: Before sending a message, take a second to see if someone’s out for the day. It saves time and shows you care.
  • Use “Delay Send”: Working late or early? Schedule emails to hit inboxes when it’s in working hours.

Starting the year on the right foot isn’t about big gestures—it’s the small, thoughtful things we do for each other.

Bringing Holiday Cheer to Those in Need: A Heartwarming Effort

Bringing Holiday Cheer to Those in Need

This year, Western North Carolina was deeply affected by Hurricane Helene, leaving over 3,000 children in need of assistance during the holiday season. In response to this urgent need, Current Lighting employees in Hendersonville have stepped up with open hearts and hands, ensuring that those impacted by the storm experienced the warmth of Christmas. As part of their commitment to supporting the community, the employees delivered a truckload of gifts to help those struggling the most during this challenging time.

In addition to the generous gift donations, the employees came together to raise $455.00 in cash, which was used to purchase additional gifts, ensuring that families of all sizes were supported equally.

End year celebration Hendersonville

To close out the year, the Hendersonville team gathered for a year-end celebration, where they enjoyed delicious food and shared joyful moments. It was a fitting way to wrap up a season of giving and community spirit, leaving everyone with lasting memories of kindness and camaraderie.

Celebrating "Día de los Reyes Magos" in Acuna and Tijuana: A Joyous Tradition

Rosca de reyes_Acuña

Acuna, Mexico.

Rosca de reyes_Tijuana

Tijuana, Mexico.

This year, the festive spirit of "Día de los Reyes Magos" was joyfully celebrated in both Acuna and Tijuana, where teams came together to honor this beloved Mexican tradition.

In both locations, the celebration featured the traditional rosca de reyes, a delicious sweet bread shaped like a crown, symbolizing the arrival of the Three Kings. The teams gathered to share the cake, excitedly searching for the small figurines of a baby hidden inside.

In Acuna, the celebration was particularly special with the presence of the Three Kings themselves dressed in their royal attire. Both sites embraced the holiday with joy and community spirit, reflecting the warmth and togetherness that this day brings. The celebration of Día de los Reyes Magos in Acuna and Tijuana was not only a reminder of tradition but also a beautiful way to start the new year.

Current Tijuana Holiday Campaign

Tijuana Christmas Campaing

Thanks to the generosity of the Tijuana collaborators, the elderly residents of Serenidad A.C. received basic necessities, accompanied by love and warmth from the members of the Current TJ team. With this act of solidarity, we managed to light up the hearts of those who need it most during the holiday season. Thank you for making a difference!

That’s all for this week!

In case you missed it, check out our CEO’s blog.

We are thankful for the many contributions. The next currently is scheduled for distribution 01/28/2025.
